Alicia knows first hand after seeing her much loved Dad deteriorate with Muscular Dystrophy and Dementia over the last six years, that it is a privilege to wake up each day and how ones health and mobility can be taken for granted. This is why she moved away from working in Secondary Education to launch the ‘Motivating-Me’ business. As a Health and Wellness Coach she developed the one-stop ‘Complete Wellness’ platform, coaches 1-on-1 clients, delivers Motivational Presentations and Workshops, speaks weekly on ‘The Breeze’ Radio station and designs hundreds of running and exercise programmes- educating and motivating others on preventive care, so they have the best chance of living a long and fulfilling life.
She has a strong belief that we all have the ABILITY to become healthier, but we need the tools, support and coaching to establish and maintain balance within our busy lifestyles.
From her experience, she knows in order to complete our health and wellness 'puzzle', we must focus on one puzzle piece at a time and start with the most ‘out of balance’ aspect of our lifestyle. The key to success is to set realistic goals and take micro steps to ensure balance across our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health that is maintainable.
What is Alicia’s WHY?
This is the driving force behind why Alicia Mabey (a 38yr old Mum of five from Timaru) became a Health and Wellness Coach. Alicia encourages others to step out of their comfort zone and make the most of each and every day, knowing that tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us. She has had huge success in various sporting events as she knows the importance of the ‘top-two’ inches when it comes to success.
Alicia also knows first hand just how much of a juggling act life can be. Her four fitness instructors share this same understanding and have the approach, that we’re not striving for perfection rather progression. In order to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle we must first develop an understanding of what balance looks like for each individual, and being mindful of our behaviours before challenging ourselves to take micro steps towards realistic goals. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and wants others to realise that taking an ‘all of nothing approach’ isn’t realistic or maintainable. Breaking habits and forming healthier ones take time to create these new pathways and behaviours.
